What are healthy model snacks?
Everyone has his cravings and enjoys good, delicious food.
As I’ve been traveling a lot, I know that snacks are a great thing to eat in between and for a quick healthy energy boost.
After time I selected all those easy snacks which will treat you and are also healthy.
I selected 12 travel snacks which you can take anywhere as well as 8 homemade model snacks you can enjoy with your loved ones comfortably at home.
Here are my TOP-20 healthy model snacks.
My favourite model snacks on-the-go:
A) My easy travel snacks:
1) DARK CHOCOLATE
On travels I always have a dark chocolate bar with me.
After lunch I’ll have a piece with a nice coffee or tea. (anti-oxidant packed)
2) ALMONDS
My favorite nuts.
They are high in protein and give me a long energy boost thanks to it’s high amount of fibres.
3) EGGS
My ultimate handbag trick.
I always bring one or two hard boiled eggs (6-7 minutes) with me and even eat them on-the-go.
They have all the essential amino acids and a good amount of protein.
Plus: They are so satisfying.
4) DATES
Since I’ve been living in Dubai, I became obsessed with dates.
I love them just by itself, with some nuts or in my morning oat meal.
Rich in fibre, minerals and antioxidants.
5) BERRIES
Packed with antioxidants I love to snack especially on blueberries, raspberries and strawberries.
6) MANDARINS
You peel them, it smells amazing and brings you kind of a Christmas vibe.
Right, I’m talking about mandarins.
One of my easy mood-boosters and go-to travel snacks.
7) APPLES
You can even throw them in your handbag and the apple still stays fresh.
Apples are perfect to snack on-the-go.
Fiber packed and refreshing.
8) NUTS
Nuts in general are a great snack.
After almonds I love cashew nuts, walnuts and pecans the most.
9) GRAPES
Also easy to take away in a box.
Grapes!
They directly fit into your mouth you won’t make a mess while eating them. 😉
10) VEGETABLE STICKS
I pack a bag with either carrots, fennel slices, celerysticks or cucumber and apples.
So I have a savory and sweet food with me.
Plus you always have something fresh with you which rehydrates.
11) TEA
Yeah, doesn’t sound like a snack…
But it’s always great to bring your favourite tea bags with you, so you can enjoy what you like the most.
12) CHERRY TOMATOES
A box of cherry tomatoes.
I love their sweet taste and bright colour, and they are easy to snack as they are only one mouth full.
Now my selfmade model snacks.
B) My simple homemade snacks:
1) APPLE // ALMOND BUTTER
I cut a apple into slices and add almond butter on each slice.
Ready is your easy comfy homemade snack.
2) BANANA
Before working out, or just as a nice snack, bananas are a great energy-booster for you.
They are high in minerals and due to it’s heavy texture give you more the feeling of a treat.
3) BANANA FROZEN
Almost like icecream.
Only cut bananas into 0,5 cm slices and freeze them over night.
Then you can eat them slice by slice and they will melt in your mouth like ice-cream.
Delicious!!
4) BANANA // SKYR/QUARK
Another banana version.
Cut some banana into a bowl and add skyr or low-fat quark, which are both high in protein.
So you get a good amount of protein, fibres and energy.
5) “ICE-CREAM”
Add frozen raspberries, almonds and skyr into a bowl and mix it with a spoon.
Tastes like kind of an ice-cream. 😊
6) GREEN SMOOTHIES
Get some nice greens and a bit of fruit in, with a great green smootie.
You can either buy it fresh from a smoothie bar (make sure they don’t add any sugar) or you make it yourself.
7) DARK CHOCOLATE (selfmade)
Mix cacao powder and coconut oil.
Cut some dates into very small pieces and mix it together with the cacao mass.
Then apply it to a muffin form.
Take care that there are dates in every form.
Then sprinkle some chopped pecans on top.
Afterwards freeze them for 1 hour and you have selfmade pralines with a healthy factor and without any added sugar.
(My favourite chocolate recipe!!!)
8) RICE CAKES // ALMOND BUTTER // BANANA
Very easy!
Put some almond butter on a rice cake, and then add some slices of banana onto it.
Ready – EAT 😉 !
