Raw energy balls – quick, healthy dessert in 5 minutes
Since I discovered the marvelous datepaste from Anna Gleem I tried several recipes with it.
In the last weeks my go-to dessert where simple-quick pralines.
The main ingredient for our raw energy balls is the datepaste which will be added with nuts, healthy, raw fats and oats.
I can only say: YUMMY!
If you don’t have a predone datepaste, you can add the same amount of dates with a bit of water into your blender and mix it well until it’s a soft thick paste.
I show you my favourite variations below.
Raw energy balls – my 4 recipes
For 2 persons:
#1 Basic recipe oats:
- 100g datepaste
- 1 handfull of chopped walnuts
- 1 tbsp butter or coconut oil
- 2 tbsp oats
#2 Gluten-free chocolate version:
- 100g datepaste
- 1 handfull of chopped almonds
- 1 tbsp butter or coconut oil
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cacao powder (you can also use more, depending how much chocolate you like)
#3 Gluten-free almond-chocolate version:
- 100g datepaste
- 1 handfull of chopped almonds
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cacao powder (you can also use more, depending how much chocolate you like)
#4 Gluten-free without cacao:
- 100g datepaste
- 1 handfull of chopped walnuts
- 1 tbsp butter or coconut oil or almond butter
Warm the butter/coconut oil by mixing the ingredients with your hands until you mixed everything well togehter.
The fats like butter/coconut oil/almond butter and nuts are very essential for the recipes.
They will give the recipe a round flavour.
Also the almonds, walnuts and oats are great for texture purpose.
Also some healthy fats are very good for your brain!
As soon as you’re having a good paste divide the dough into small hazelnut big portions.
Then roll each portion and form small balls/pralines.
Add all onto a plate and put them in a freezer for 30 minutes.
Then they’ll have the perfect texture and are ready to be enjoyed.
